Publishing Ethics<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Publication Ethics and Policy of the SWARM Academic Journal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Publication Ethics and Policy of the SWARM academic journal is a fundamental document that obligates adherence to ethical principles and best practices at all stages of the publishing process. Its fulfillment requires active participation and compliance from all stakeholders, including authors, reviewers, editorial and technical boards, the journal\u2019s publisher, and other involved parties. These principles are aligned with the guidelines established by COPE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publication Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Contributions published in the SWARM academic journal, issued by CRAA \u2013 Institute of Occupational Safety at Heights (hereafter referred to as the Institute), focus on areas of activity that are of interest to the Institute. These include occupational safety, work at heights, scuba and commercial diving, rescue operations, and related activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scientific, editorial, and technical board (hereafter referred to as the editorial board) is responsible for deciding which submitted contributions will be published. The editorial board adheres not only to the journal\u2019s principles but also to applicable legal regulations, including requirements related to personality protection, copyright, and plagiarism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review<\/strong> process (the identities of authors and reviewers are mutually anonymized) and are assessed based on content, relevance, professionalism, and other criteria. Attributes such as gender, religion, race, orientation, ethnicity, citizenship, or political views of the authors are not considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the editorial board must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the responsible author, reviewers, and, if necessary, expert editorial advisors. Unpublished materials contained in submitted manuscripts must not be used in the editors\u2019 own research without the explicit written consent of the author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publication Ethics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Authors commit to the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Authors must submit original, previously unpublished contributions and ensure that the work is not concurrently submitted to another journal or publisher. If a previous submission was rejected, this must be disclosed to the editorial board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • All individuals who contributed to the concept, execution, or interpretation of the research must be properly credited as authors or co-authors. The submitting author is responsible for accurately listing all contributors. Requests for adding authors after submission will not be accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Authors bear full responsibility for their manuscript, including its content, compliance with relevant standards, and proper handling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Proper citation norms must be followed, and all sources of information (e.g., literature) used in the manuscript must be accurately referenced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The manuscript or any part thereof must not constitute plagiarism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research results presented in the manuscript must comply with relevant legal provisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research findings should be presented accurately and transparently. Deliberate misrepresentation, inaccuracies, or fraudulent information is unacceptable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Any sources of financial support for the research must be disclosed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Authors are obligated to promptly inform the editorial board of any errors or inaccuracies identified in published contributions and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Reviewers commit to the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Reviewers communicate with the chair of the editorial board and contribute to decisions on the acceptance or rejection of submitted articles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Reviewers\u2019 role is to objectively assess the manuscript to ensure the highest quality of published articles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If a reviewer identifies a conflict of interest, feels unqualified to review the manuscript, or lacks sufficient time to complete the review, they must promptly inform the chair of the editorial board and decline the review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Reviews must be constructive, objective, and unbiased, focusing on the relevance, professionalism, and formal aspects of the manuscript. Any criticisms must be supported by evidence or references to prior studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Reviewers treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose, discuss, or use the information contained within them for any purpose before the manuscript is published.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Reviews must be completed without undue delay and within the timeframe specified by the chair of the editorial board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If a reviewer identifies issues with the originality of the manuscript, significant similarities with published works, or relevant sources not cited, or has ethical concerns, they must notify the chair of the editorial board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Editorial Board<\/strong> commits to the following principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The board ensures the publication of high-quality scientific articles in SWARM and oversees adherence to ethical principles by authors and reviewers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The board has the authority to accept or reject submissions based on their relevance, originality, and contribution to the journal\u2019s scope and target audience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Manuscripts failing to meet publication requirements or violating ethical principles will be rejected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their alignment with the journal\u2019s focus and compliance with formal requirements, without assessing their content or expertise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The board maintains the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the review process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Manuscripts are treated as confidential documents and shared only with two reviewers. Following revisions, the manuscript may be published as an article.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Decisions are made impartially, without favoritism or discrimination against authors or reviewers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If a reviewer cannot complete the review, the board will appoint an alternative expert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Confidentiality<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        1. The editorial board ensures the anonymity of authors until the article is published.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. The anonymity of reviewers is also preserved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
